Founder
Tim Glennon, a renowned custom metal fabricator, discovered his passion for creating at an early age. At just 16, he built his first hot rod, setting the stage for a lifelong pursuit of craftsmanship. Initially, he learned the art of fabrication from his circle of friends and family. He then continued growing his skills and spent a decade working in a machine shop, honing his technical expertise. Tim then transitioned to a fabrication shop, where he spent 15 years perfecting his craft.
Then, in 2018, he was asked to create a custom gear dryer for a local fire department. Inspired by this, Tim founded his own company, Backdraft Gear Dryers, to cater to the specific needs of fire departments.
Since its inception, Backdraft Gear Dryers has flourished and grown to accomodate custom metal fabrication, with Tim focusing on creating custom fabrication solutions for various fire departments. This transitioned the company to "Backdraft Custom Metals" as it is today.
His repertoire now includes designing and manufacturing custom water manifolds, brush truck outfitting, storage solutions, and much more. Tim's unwavering dedication and exceptional craftsmanship have made him a trusted name in the industry, providing invaluable support to fire departments nationwide.
